Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18/05/2026
This Privacy Policy explains how KJ Cargo GmbH ("KJ Cargo", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit our website or use our services. We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / Regulation 2016/679) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).
1. Data Controller
KJ Cargo GmbH, Schloßstraße 110, 12163 Berlin, Germany. Commercial Register: HRB 247060 B (Amtsgericht Charlottenburg). Email: dispatch@kjcargo.de.
2. Categories of Data We Process
Contact data (name, company, email, phone) submitted through our contact form; transport request details you share with us; technical data automatically collected when visiting the website (IP address, browser type, timestamp, referrer); communication content when you contact us by email or phone.
3. Purposes and Legal Basis
We process personal data to respond to your enquiries and prepare transport quotes (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — pre-contractual measures), to fulfil contracts for transport and forwarding services (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), to comply with statutory obligations such as commercial and tax record-keeping (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR), and to operate, secure and improve our website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest).
4. Recipients of Personal Data
Personal data may be shared with our subcontracted carriers and forwarding partners strictly to the extent required to execute the transport you ordered, with IT and hosting providers acting as processors under Art. 28 GDPR, with authorities where required by law (customs, tax, courts), and with freight exchange platforms (such as TimoCom and Trans.eu) where you have explicitly requested or contracted services routed through them.
5. International Transfers
Personal data is primarily processed within the European Economic Area. Where transfers to third countries are necessary (e.g. cross-border deliveries), they take place on the basis of an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards (Art. 46 GDPR), in particular EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by statutory retention obligations under German commercial and tax law (typically 6 or 10 years).
7. Your Rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data (Art. 15), to rectification (Art. 16), to erasure (Art. 17), to restriction of processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20), to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21), and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — for KJ Cargo this is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.
8. Cookies
Our website uses only technically necessary cookies and local storage entries required to deliver the requested functionality (e.g. remembering your selected language). No tracking or advertising cookies are set without your explicit consent.
9. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure. All traffic to and from our website is encrypted via TLS.
